I grew up in Arad. My father, a former combat soldier, instilled values like the love of the homeland, and the aspiration of becoming a combat soldier.

In 1987 I enlisted in combat service, and at the end of my service, I enlisted in Israel’s National Counter Terror Unit.

In 2003 I partook in the elimination of a terrorist squad. I was a few meters away from the terrorist who set off an explosive device towards me… As a result of the explosion, I lost my left foot. I went through a rehabilitation process where I learned to walk again…

After five months of perseverance, determination, and sticking to my goal of moving forward, I returned to the unit as a trooper and combat instructor with a custom-made prosthesis.

Nothing could prepare me for the second injury, it was a total shock for me!

In 2014, on my way to work, a driver took an illegal u-turn, and I hit him, as I was unable to break in time, and suffered an injury to my spine and head.

I arrived at the hospital in a critical condition, sedated and intubated, and was defined as a suitable organ donor.

This was the worst injury I ever experienced, physically and mentally, worse than any terrorist incident.
